Leading From The C-Suite: Ron Gidron of xtype On Five Things You Need To Be A Highly Effective C-Suite Executive
Thank you so much for joining us in this interview series. Before we dive into our discussion, our readers would love to “get to know you” a bit better. Can you share with us the backstory about what brought you to your specific career path?
Igrew up on a kibbutz in Israel and was very happy driving tractors and combine harvesters as a young boy; my father was an entrepreneur. He built a large paper factory in the kibbutz and built an international business out of it. He returned from a trip to London in 1983, and I got a Sinclair Zx Spectrum — my first computer. This old computer used a black and white TV and a cassette player that loaded a Logo programming prompt. I was hooked. Later in life, I left the kibbutz and got my first job at a company called Mercury Interactive which pioneered automated testing and was extremely successful; my career took me from there to here through several important stations, but I am happy to say that I feel I am fortunate to have been given that gift by my father so early that triggered my curiosity and led me down a path that I am still on today.
